What if the thing you’re most certain about is the very thing you need help seeing differently?
Most of us are not trying to resist God. We sincerely want to follow the Holy Spirit, make choices, and become more like Jesus. But sincerity does not guarantee that we see ourselves clearly. Our fears, expectations, wounds, and desires can shape the way we interpret life, sometimes making an unhealthy pattern feel responsible, protective, or even faithful. The danger is not always that we knowingly choose what is wrong. Sometimes we cannot recognize what we cannot see.
God does not reveal those blind spots to shame us or threaten our place with Him. In Christ, we are already fully known, loved, and invited to come closer. The Holy Spirit leads us into truth and freedom, and one of the ways He does that is through the people He has placed around us. This message explores why spiritual sincerity has limits, how sin can disguise itself as our best judgment, and why Christian community is part of God’s design for helping us see more clearly.

- Where in your life do you most trust your own read of what is happening, and how sure are you that the view is complete?
- When have you been sincere about following Jesus and later realized you were filtering Him through a picture you already had?
- Which of these explanations has sounded most reasonable to you: calling fear wisdom, control responsibility, avoidance peace, resentment discernment, or stubbornness conviction?
- How do you usually react when something unfinished in you comes into the light: hide, defend, search yourself for everything that could be wrong, or come closer?
- What would change if you really believed that being fully known by Jesus has not caused Him to withdraw from you?
- Who in your life has named growth in you that you still thought was weakness?
- What makes it hard for you to let another believer have enough of your actual life to see something you might miss?
- How do you tell the difference between needing help from the body and handing someone a job that belongs only to Jesus?
- If isolation has felt safer to you, what were you protecting, and what has that protection cost you?
- What is one step you could take this week to place yourself where grace-filled relationship can grow, without giving anyone unlimited access to your life?
